Adoption Fees

Our adoption fees are set based on the pet. All of the pets we take in have various medical conditions. For this reason the cost to perform diagnostics, perform medical procedures (i.e. surgery), treat, and medicate can vary widely.

The average surgery cost is easily $3000-5000 and hospitalization and care post operatively can easily raise this number to even higher. Some pets require ongoing care over a period of weeks while others require a shorter hospital stay.

  • Most of our pets will have an adoption fee that ranges from $250-$500 depending on the pet.

  • French Bulldogs will have a significantly higher adoption fee. Unfortunately French Bulldogs have a lot more medical needs and require more intensive care than an average dog. French Bulldogs commonly have airway issues, skin issues, and birth defects (i.e. cleft palate, cleft lip). We love each and every Frenchie for the love and joy they bring, but a potential adopter should be prepared for a pet that requires more medical care over the years. They can range from $1000-2000.

  • Kitten Adoptions $175

Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccines (age appropriate and up to date at the time of adoption), microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

A Note About Breed Information

All of our dogs and puppies are rescues, and many come to us from unknown or uncertain backgrounds. In some rare cases we have reliable information about their breed, but most of the time we simply don’t. Any breed description we provide is our best educated guess based on appearance and behavior.

What we can promise is that every animal in our care is loved, evaluated, and supported—regardless of breed—and we’re committed to helping you find the best match for your family.

Meet the Junebug Foundation Team

Junebug Foundation is powered by a small but dedicated group of volunteers who manage everything from medical care to adoptions and community outreach. Each role is essential to ensuring our animals receive compassionate care, thoughtful advocacy, and successful placement into forever homes.

Key Team Members

Leah

Adoption Coordinator

Leah serves as one of Junebug Foundation’s primary Adoption Coordinators. She manages adoption inquiries from start to finish, including initial application review, applicant screening, follow-up communication, and coordination with foster homes. Leah plays a critical role in ensuring that each adoption is well-informed, responsible, and in the best interest of both the animal and the adopting family.

Shauna

Adoption Coordinator & Social Media Lead

Shauna fulfills a dual role at Junebug Foundation as both an Adoption Coordinator and our Social Media Lead. In addition to screening adoption applications and communicating with potential adopters, she oversees much of our social media presence—helping share each animal’s story, promote adoption events, and connect our rescue with the broader community.

How Adoption Requests Are Handled

To ensure consistency, efficiency, and the best possible outcomes for our animals, all adoption-related inquiries are funneled directly to our Adoption Coordinators.

Our typical adoption process includes:

  • Review and screening of submitted adoption applications

  • Direct follow-up with applicants by an Adoption Coordinator

  • Assessment of household fit, lifestyle compatibility, and readiness

  • Coordination with foster homes for meet-and-greets and trial placements

This centralized approach allows our team to maintain clear communication, provide accurate information, and thoughtfully match each animal with an appropriate forever home.

To help our small team stay organized, we kindly ask that all adoption inquiries be submitted through our official adoption application rather than through direct messages.
